Sustainability report

At Fristads, we are passionate about sustainability and it is the guiding star of everything that we do. We use the term in a broad sense, to describe that our products must be sustainable for both the people wearing them and for the planet. To stay in business, we also need sustainable profits.

Our aim is to be a leader in our industry on sustainability. To challenge the way we produce workwear and inspire others to follow suit. To get there, we must always stay on our toes, be transparent and keep ourselves accountable. Above all, we must back up our claims with facts. In our annual Sustainability Report, you can read about our progress so far.

Highlights from the 2020 report

In 2020, we:

  • Reduced greenhouse gas emissions in our own operations by 54%.
  • Reinforced our commitment to the Fristads Green range to reduce the environmental footprint of our production.
  • Increased the share of OEKO-TEX® certified garments in our product range from 70% to 77%.
  • Repaired 20% of all garments that were returned as a claim, instead of replacing them with a new one.
  • Launched projects that will help us close the loop on clothing production.
  • Collaborated with customers to switch out existing materials in our products for more sustainable options.
  • Cut down on packaging materials and increased the use of biobased materials in our packaging.
