Fristads’ commitment to science-based targets
At Fristads, we know that tackling climate change requires more than ambition – it needs measurable action guided by science. As part of Hultafors Group, our climate targets have been validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This means we are taking concrete, science-backed steps to cut greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain and, in the long term, reach net-zero. Being aligned with SBTi ensures that our efforts are measurable, transparent, and in line with the reductions required by the Paris Agreement. For our customers, it is proof that we are serious about climate action.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global framework that helps companies align their climate action with the latest climate science. By setting targets validated by SBTi, companies commit to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions in line with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, as set out in the Paris Agreement. SBTi is a partnership between CDP, the UN Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), and WWF, and is part of the We Mean Business Coalition. Together, these organisations provide guidance, accountability, and momentum for companies worldwide to transition to a low-carbon economy.
