Where the workwear magic happens

Fristads’ workwear is made where great craftsmanship meets long-term commitment – in our own factory in Ukraine and in carefully chosen partner factories across Asia, Africa and Europe. Wherever production takes place, we follow local labour laws and collective agreements, making sure the people behind our products work in a safe environment with fair wages. And we don’t work with just anyone. Every supplier goes through a careful screening process to ensure they meet our standards for sustainability, quality, technical expertise and business ethics. It’s about finding the right partner for the right product – and building a global network that matches our ambition. By combining rigorous supplier selection, long-term partnerships, uncompromising quality controls and international agreements, Fristads ensures that every product we make honors our commitment to social and environmental sustainability.

PARTNERSHIPS THAT STAND THE TEST OF TIME

Great workwear doesn’t happen overnight. That’s why we focus on building long-term relationships with a handful of strategic suppliers. Many have been with us for years, creating a shared understanding of our quality requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement. These partnerships ensure not just reliable production, but also products that live up to our promise of durability and function. As an extra safeguard, quality checks are built into every step of our process – from controls during production to inspections at our warehouses. By holding the line on quality, we make sure every piece that carries the Fristads name is made to last.

MANAGING RISK IN OUR SUPPLY CHAINS

All suppliers sign our Code of Conduct , which commits them to respect workers’ rights, ensure safe and healthy workplaces and guarantee non-discrimination. It also sets clear demands on wages, emissions, chemical use and waste management. We have zero tolerance for child labour, forced labour or serious breaches of health and safety. Our CSR team monitors suppliers continuously, supported by independent third-party audits. If a supplier fails to meet expectations, we take action immediately – and if the breach is serious, we end the relationship.

We use World Bank governance indicators to evaluate the risks in the countries where we source. Factors such as political stability, rule of law and corruption levels guide our oversight. To strengthen transparency, all Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers disclose their own supply chain information through the Worldfavor sustainability platform. Unauthorised subcontracting is not allowed, ever.

STRONG GLOBAL COMMITMENTS

Our vision of fair and safe work is backed by global initiatives. As a member of amfori BSCI and a signatory of the International Accord on Health and Safety in the Garment and Textile Industry, we stand by international standards that make workplaces safer and fairer. All factories must complete remediation under the Accord before or during production of our orders.

We want every person involved in making our products to have a safe, respectful and supportive working environment. To back this up, we have a whistleblowing service  that allows anyone in our supply chain to report wrongdoings anonymously. It’s one more way we put our commitment to fair and safe jobs into action.
