Repair, reuse, recycle. It may sound simple – and yet enormous amounts of workwear is discarded across Europe every year. At Fristads, we’re proud to drive innovation in this area, as we are the first company in the workwear industry to offer a comprehensive Sustainability as a Service solution. At a time when sustainability regulations are intensifying and demands on corporate responsibility are higher than ever, we give our customers a smart way to reduce emissions, cut costs, and extend the life of their garments. In other words – with Sustainability as a Service, we make it easy to do better.

Extending the life of your workwear

Most of the climate emissions from clothing occur in the production phase. That’s why extending the lifespan of existing products is one of the most effective climate actions we can take. With our Sustainability as a Service, we partner with our customers to ensure that each garment is used to its full potential and managed responsibly when it reaches its end of life.
Our service is built around three pillars – Repair, Reuse and Recycle – each designed to minimise waste and maximise value. Today, we offer Repair and Recycle exclusively to our dealers and contract customers, and Reuse to our contract customers:


  • Repair Even the most durable garments can get damaged in tough working environments. Instead of throwing them away, our repair service gives them a second chance by fixing zippers, buttons or tears. Repairs are handled efficiently through a digital system, making it easy for customers to keep garments in circulation for longer.


  • Reuse  – Workwear that is no longer needed by an employee often still has plenty of life left. We collect, sort, wash and store garments so they can be reassigned when needed. For companies with seasonal or temporary staff, this saves both resources and money while reducing the need to purchase new workwear.


  • Recycle  – When garments have reached the end of their life, we recycle as much as possible. Through our partners’ open-loop recycling solutions, textiles are given new life as anything from furniture padding to construction materials. Customers also receive a detailed report on how their garments were repurposed, offering full transparency.
