Made in green – transparency you can trust
We’ve been walking the talk on safe, responsible production for decades. Now, the OEKO-TEX® Made in Green label makes it official – and visible – by giving our workwear a globally recognised proof of quality, transparency, and trust. For our customers, this label is more than a certification; it’s a quality stamp that guarantees the workwear you buy is safe to use, responsibly made, and fully traceable. A Made in Green product basically carries two certifications in one: it meets the strict requirements of the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which ensures the garment is tested for harmful substances, and it is produced in a facility certified according to OEKO-TEX® STeP, which verifies that it meets the highest sustainability standards. Together, these certifications go to show that our workwear is made with respect for both people and the planet.
With Made in Green, you don’t have to guess where or how your clothes were made. Each product comes with a unique ID number that lets you trace the entire journey, from raw material producer to finished garment, simply by entering the number into a database on the OEKO-TEX® website. It’s transparency at its best – and an easy way to make informed, confident choices about your workwear purchases. But honestly, Made in Green hasn’t changed how we work, it just confirms that we’re already doing things right. We’ve worked with OEKO-TEX® since 1997, and today 98% of our products are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Made in Green takes that work one step further, adding traceability as well as social and environmental responsibility to the mix.
To be considered for the Made in Green label, a product must be produced in a facility with OEKO-TEX® STeP (Sustainable Textile and Leather Production) certification. STeP evaluates manufacturing facilities across six key areas, ensuring high performance throughout the supply chain:
- Chemical management – safe handling, substitution of hazardous substances, and risk management during processes like dyeing and printing.
- Environmental performance – responsible wastewater and emission control, energy efficiency, and resource protection.
- Environmental management – structured systems and continuous improvement to minimise impact.
- Social responsibility – fair wages, reasonable working hours, health and safety, and zero tolerance for forced or child labour.
- Quality management – consistent product quality and customer safety standards.
- Occupational health and safety – safe working conditions, protective equipment, and ongoing training for employees.
We’ve started by certifying a selection of our Core and Bestselling products to Made in Green, and more are being added continuously. Many of the products also have an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), making for a perfect combination. While EPDs show the garment’s environmental footprint, Made in Green ensures it was produced responsibly – both socially and environmentally. Together, they make it easier for customers to choose workwear that’s safer, more responsible, and fully traceable from thread to factory. Because sustainability isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we build into every garment we make.
