Vattenfall services

When we were commissioned with developing extremely durable and weather resistant shell garments for a subsidiary of the Swedish energy company Vattenfall services we chose an innovative approach. Rather than simply rely on our internal product development we decided to involve the users in the process of creating a completely new product.

Through close collaboration with the users, Fristads Solutions was able to not only optimise the garments to fit the customer’s specific needs, but also increase the durability. By collecting feedback and listening to those who were going to use the garments in their daily work, we were able to identify and address important challenges and potential improvements.

In August 2021 we delivered the first batch of the new shell garments, and they were immediately well received by the Vattenfall services employees. The new model quickly became popular and appreciated, which prompted us to include the garments in Fristads’ regular product range.

The successful partnership with Vattenfall services goes back to 2017, when they became customers of Fristads Solutions. Today, over 4,000 of Vattenfall’s employees in Sweden wear garments from Fristads multinorm range. Over the years, Fristads and Vattenfall services have developed no less than 26 different models in close collaboration.

This partnership is a good example of the ways the team at Fristads Solutions gets involved in our customers’ needs and strives to create durable and high-quality workwear. By including the users in the product development, they can ensure that the garments are adapted for the actual needs and meet the requirements of specific work environments.

We are proud of our long-running partnership with Vattenfall services and look forward to continuing our collaboration to develop even more innovative and durable work clothes that meet their requirements and exceed their expectations.

Quote from customer

”Our users need garments that can protect them against potential issues that the weather can create, from plodding through deep snow to being exposed to harsh wind, pouring rain and freezing cold. They also climb up metal poles and wooden poles clad in sharp metal mesh, which comes with great risk of cut and tear damage, so the garments must have very high tear strength,” says Mats Lövström, strategic buyer and category manager for PPE at Vattenfall services in Sweden.

“I think it’s a good thing that the people who use the garments also get to test them. The new shell garments from Fristads are both comfortable and warm, and keep moisture out,” says Assar Tieva, Vattenfall Services Nordic.
