RECYCLE YOUR WORKWEAR WITH FRISTADS UK

At Fristads, we are constantly working to reduce our environmental footprint and as a clothing manufacturer, closing the loop on our production is key to this effort. Fristads UK is taking another step towards circular production by offering a recycling service for our customers. Fristads will have a collection point where discarded garments can either be sent or dropped off by users and these items will be sent to be recycled and converted into other garments or products.

As from April, 2023, any end user or dealer can either drop off their garments themselves in the recycling bins or send them to our Great Yarmouth office address. In the Autumn, Fristads will expand the recycling service by offering dealers or end user clients the opportunity to have their own bins at a location of their choice.

How it works:

1. Fristads UK provides the recycling service and collections bins at their office.
2. Dealers and end user send their garments to Fristads’ office or drop them off themselves in the bins provided.
3. When the bin is full, the garments will be collected and recycled into new products.
4. The garment recycling process will be independently audited and a certificate confirming the amount of material recycled and how it was repurposed will be issued.

What happens with the garments?

The condition and make-up of the clothes will determine on how they are repurposed. Fristads’ primary and preferred route will be to shred the garments and convert them into new garments[LM1] [RF2] . Our secondary route is to recycle them into end-of-life products for the building industry, such as insulation, geotextiles, partition walls and sound boarding. If neither of these routes are possible because the clothes are either too heavily soiled or the material is non-recyclable, the material will ground up and used as fuel for energy.  The result is that nothing goes to landfill.
